I created NestyBird due to my personal bird having an emergency. The issue: she was extremely thin and was laying so many eggs that she was depleting her body of everything. She had plenty of food but it consisted mostly of pure seed. She has always been an aggressive bird since the day we got her as a 3-year-old, so we weren’t handling her and therefore never even knew she was thin. Now, over 1 year later, my bird is doing much better. The vet originally didn’t think she’d make it over the weekend. While we are still fighting with getting her to gain and keep weight with ups and downs, she is overall much better. One thing we had to change was using more foraging toys and fewer tear-apart ones. The issue: they were hard to find and I couldn’t find many different options. That’s where NestyBird comes in. Focused on helping female birds become less nesty by increasing toys and better diets. For those looking for their bird to become more nesty, I’ve decided to include tips on things that can also help with that.
